Hi folks,

Anyone out there have a Ford 140 with the Magnesium Deck. I recently obtained this tractor. Everything is working now, but I can't get the mower deck to go up and down. The electric cylinder moves back and forth, but the deck stays in the upright position. Is there a missing bracket that goes from the electric cylinder arm to the deck or another way to hook it up underneath ???

Thanks in advance,

Peter

Welcome to the forum! Got any pics you can post? That helps greatly in figuring out things like this. A model # may help also (Besides Ford 140) Could be a bracket missing or something a simple as a sheared pin.

Hi Kenny P,

Thanks for the prompt response. Will go out there now and take a couple of pics for you to see and a model #.

Thanks. Pics are the best help we can get to figure things out. Get at least one of the whole tractor.

The serial number is 532655874. Now I'm trying to figure out how to upload these photos!

Thanks for the video.... that makes it much easier. So the serial # again is 532655874. I should really be outside putting in my garden, but this stuff gets under your skin, as you know. It is very warm here today!

I have started painting this old girl so I apologize for her condition. I downloaded a manual from this site on a Ford Magnesium deck but it appears to be a manual lift. I will study it to see if it helps. The electric piston comes out about 8 inches and there seems to be a bracket on the frame of the tractor, but I can't figure out if they should be used. They have some wear, but I am not sure if they where ever used.

Thanks again,

Peter

I looked it that manual you mentioned and I see one thing that is not in your pics. Fig. 24 & 25 show this, which should be the same except the lifting handle.

They are calling it a lift hook in fig 24.
