I have one of the Poloron mowers. My model is the Cougar.

The way the drive works is like the drive of a rear engine snapper.

The further the friction hub moves out it goes faster in both directions forward and reverse.

The steering operates by two gears that are connected by a bicycle chain.

Neat piece. Never heard of Poloron, but it looks pretty stout.

I had a Wards with the pull in the dash. Great idea for an easy starter, but the geometry is all wrong if you have to pull and pull and pull.
