hello every one i am going to try to convert a 1054 or 1254 or what ever it is geared bolens tube frame to a hydro bolens tube frame i have the trans out of a 1668 or h14xl but its a Eaton Model 11 witch is used on some large frames but no tube frames here are problems that i am faced with
1 pump is ccw rotation and pto side of engine is cw i have a engine that has a reverse drive tho
2 frame needs to be modded to accommodate hydro
3 my little welder will not weld the hydro conversion mounts so i will need to send them to a shop
4 need to rebuld my front axle
cant wait to get started

:ditto:
Thatis what I was wondering...

Wouldnt it just be easier to buy a hydrostatic Bolens and keep it original instead of chopping up a gear driven one? :confuse:

Sounds like a lot of work and maybe expense. As said above, you may be able to trade what you have for the tractor you want and avoid the work. If you want the challenge and fun of a modification project you'll just have to go for it I guess.

the trans was damaged beyond repair the clutch was sized so they just rammed it into the right gear high range is gone 3rd is gone and reverse kind of works

Sounds like a project born of trying to keep one more alive. Hats off to every one who takes two derelics out of certain junkdom and uses them to put one more in the "runner" category.

Good luck on your project.
