I have 7 chickens and 1 Rooster, will the Rooster has decided the bugs are better on the other side of the fence. I come home everyday and that stupid Rooster has hopped the fence again. I left him out and told him I hope some dog gets him, and then I reminded him that he really does taste like chicken!!

OMG that is hilarious. It is also funny that you were talking to your chicken but I did too when we had them. Yelling at them for crapping everywhere.

I couldn't have free range chickens. Too aggravating, and I already have cows & heifers that like to roam when they get the slightest chance! When I had my layers (California White), they stayed inside a coop.

Have you tried clipping one of his wings? Doesn't hurt them but keeps them from flying very far.

Yes I have, but he still gets out. There is a Mulberry tree on the other side of the fence.

I have a hen that I talk "chicken soup" to every day that she doesn't lay an egg. That is happening more often than not. She had better wake up and smell the roses one of these days very very soon.

I know a rooster like that. If he's not careful, he'll be a Sunday dinner soon.

This discussion reminds me of the old cartoons with Foghorn Leghorn in them. It's a joke son!!!
