Hi Ya'll,

My son's Jacobsen reel mower has no spark. There are no points. It is a magnetic style on this Tecumseh 2 cycle engine. The model number is 62230. We know nothing about this set up. We need to know how to get it to spark. Any information on this Jacoibsen will be appreciated.
Thanks,
DB1

How much rust is on the inside of the flywheel? Sometimes, that can keep one from working.

The Jacobsen is rust-free and still has no spark. We need to know to test the electrical components/schematics. Does anyone have a book on this model.
Thanks

I can't give you specifics, but there should be continuity across the pickups (how much, ?) and no continuity thru the condenser. Be sure to use a multimeter, not a powered test light.

Any idea what the black box is at the 1 o'clock position in that picture? if it's electronic, there may be troubles in River City.

If I had to give a first guess, it'd be the condenser, maybe you can temp stick another in there and see if it helps?

The black box at one o'clock has two wire on it one goes to the condenser and I'll have to look where the other one goes tomorrow.
Thanks,
