Seeing as I am now the proud lucky owner of this machine I thought I would show some pics of her. Heres the post where I tell my story of the free part in the garden tractor forum.

http://gardentractor...a-free-tractor/

And here are some pics of it.

Check out the underside of the deck, I dont think it was ever cleaned out, we scraped it clean but need to wash it yet

IMG_1513.JPG IMG_1514.JPG IMG_1515.JPG

I dont believe there has been much in the way of maintenance on the tractor part either. It would not start when I picked it up but I started checking at the seat switch when I got it home and drove it off the trailer  :) Kathy drove it around a little before we took the deck off. She seems to like it so I guess we are keeping it for mowing. Needs a good wash down, fluid and filter changes for sure, a sharpening job on the blades, and we got a summer mower so the AC 919H is going to get sidelined and get some fluid leaks addressed. Appears to be a pretty well built tractor and the mowing deck was not too hard to take off. I just happened to have a new belt here that was the right size for the main drive belt on the tractor so I replaced that, I think the other one may have been circa 1994! The two belts on the mowing deck appear to be newer and in good shape.

So thats my freebie!!

Greg, that's a well built machine. Glad you were able to save the deck, mine had some neglect also.

One thing to look at before you start using her, you've heard me talk about that gt6000 that I had to re-pulley? This is the model.

Please check that rear pulley (the one that was very interesting to get the belt past) and make sure there isn't any slop. Do what you can to save it, as they are NLA and kind of a pistol to modify anything else to.

Heck of a deal. Congrats.

That looks a lot like my tractor which I got for free too! Mine doesn't run though...broken piston rod...
Is that a 6 speed and what engine?

Hey Thanks Guys! Once I get it cleaned up and a few PMCS completed she will be detailed to grassland (we, as in Kathy, just mowed first time this weekend).

This is a hydro drive and it is a 18 HP Kohler twin, keeping it is going to break my Briggs only rule, but rules are made for wifes to break, or at least bend reeeeeeaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyy far :)

Looks good Greg! Great deal on it! I think it would look really good if it had some atv tires, a yellow paint job, and some caterpillar decals! LOL!

How much did Casey pay you to say that, Ryan? :bigrofl: But, since the subject of paint came up, what's Kathy's favorite color? If she likes it and wants it to mow with, might as well personalize it for her!

keeping it is going to break my Briggs only rule,

So, that's where all the Briggs go that no one else wants... :bigrofl:

That David Bradley and my Allis 112 are the exceptions to my "no briggs" rule

What a deal! Congratulations on your GT6000. It's identical to mine. I hope you like it as much as I like mine!

Hey guys thanks again, its been a few days since I have been on.
UPDATE:
My free tractor ended up costing about $60, I had to replace the ignition coil/module. Oil changed, deck cleaned, blades sharpened (they look like maybe used part of a season but I dont think they were sharpened more than a couple times), greased, still need a hydro fluid change but that will be a few weeks out yet. Kathy used it again to mow the lawn tonight, she really seems to like it but says it steers harder than the others, will have to look into that.

Oh and Kenny she says the color is just fine with her, shes usually not too hard to please, its not too fancy, but she definitely would not GO PINK!!!!!
