If anyone has a 405 Sickle Mower PTO drive pully they don't need, or are willing to "loan" so I may have one machined, I would dearly appreciate it. I put my beautiful 405 I bought on the 900 yesterday and discovered the drive pully that goes on the PTO was missing, major dissapointment.

Thanks!

Fritz

Like we discussed last night, I posted the question on the Yahoo Haban Group.

If/when I get an answer I'll let you know.

I joined the group per your suggestion last night and sent a message out hoping Erwin Haban would reply. If I hear from him I'll let you know.

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks Dale, always can use a sympathetic ear! I went to Tractor Supply today and they had in stock a 3 inch dia pulley with a 3/4 inch dia center for a 5/8 inch belt. It had two lobes on the hub, one lobe having a set screw in it. It was only $9.00 so I bought it to see if I could make it work. My thought was if the hub was deep enough I might be able to drill through and put a bolt through, just like a universal drive. The hub wasn't deep enough to align with the hole in the PTO shaft and have the pulley groove aligned for the belt. The set screw DID however line up perfect for one the PTO drive pline valleys, so I put it on in alignment for the belt, tightend down the set screw and viola! It worked! For about an hour . . . The set screw loosened slightly and the pully drifted forward. This aloowed the pulley to come out of alignment with the belt causing excessive heat and stress on the aft face of the pulley "V" drive, which of course caused the Chinese cast aluminum pulley to fail.

Until I get the right pulley, I think I will try again with the same pulley. I will drill and tap a hole in the other lobe which is 180 degrees from the factory one and put a set screw in it. If I check both set screws for tightness every hour or so, I will at least be able to use the sickle, which does a fantastic job by the way. Thanks to "Old Buzzard" for the help with the Haban Group!

Is there any room to double up on the set screws so they dont back out?
