I would say that if a stock Massey MF10 with a set of AGs and wheel weights pulling a 10" Brinly plow or a similar tractor plow setup could do the job it's good enough.

I'm sure you'll have it all dialed in.
What was the back up day again? In case of bad weather.

The following Saturday, November 3rd. So many things going on around that time. I think Keck Gonnerman plow day at New Harmony, Indiana is November 10th. If it rains both my dates out, we'll still try to reschedule!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doug, are you still planning on going?
Getting anywhere with that government of ours, for your passport?

What would you say is the minimum tractor plow set up to do the job with your field conditions?

Don't know if I would be able to leave! The '71 needs a rectifier, and the '75 still has no front wheels on it! I should have the fronts back on tomorrow but I can't take it down until the wheel weights are painted and on!

Lots of time Ryan.
822 miles. You don't have to leave until the 20th of Oct, and at 6 miles an hour, you'd even have time to stop
and change the oil a couple of times. Maybe even a bit of sight seeing.

I think pretty much any tractor setup would do fine. Now if you tried to pull a 12" plow with that MF10.... you'd have problems. Back when my MF2055 Custom was still a std MF1650, I could pull my twin 10's with it just fine. If anyone has problems, all you'd have to do is move the plow to the right just a tick to take less of a cut. Mostly depends on how dry or damp the soil is at the time.

Ok guys, October 27th 2012 will be the 1st annual Ball Hollow/GTTalk Plow Day! November 3rd will be the rain date.
To help cover costs, I will need to have a $5 registration fee, and also everyone will need to sign a waiver of liability (std practice). I also hope to get some sponsors so I can also have some door prizes.
I will have at least 45 acres, more available if needed. Level to rolling land. This will be ground where we chopped off this year's corn silage, and I will try to bush hog down the stubble stalks as close as possible if time permits.
This will be my 1st ever plow day to have put on, so it will be a learning experience, and hopefully will get better each successive year. Hope many of you can come, so mark it on your calendar!
Address is 1650 Ball Hollow Road, Hodgenville, Ky 42748 (Behind my Son's home) You can reach me by cell phone at two 7 zero-4 nine 1-0 four 7 eight.
Please, no alcohol allowed for safety's sake.

Garden tractors, "sub" compacts, & walk behinds welcome. Please, no full size tractors. You are welcome to bring items for show or sale, but there is no formal show or swap/sell meet.

Single day event this year. Registration will begin at 7:30 to 8 am, with plowing lasting as long as there is light. I have not finalized plans concerning lunch, so please look for updates.

If you make plans to attend, please reply to this post and I will add you to the list below:

1: Nutndun
2: Grand
3: chuck 050382
4: Meangreen
5: Olcowhand
6: DHI (maybe)
7: Jimmymc2286
8: 1971deere
9: wawcub47 (maybe)
10: daDoug
11: Texas Deere and Horse

OK guys, I know several more have said they were going to do their best to make it, so those not on the list, please PM me or post below, and I'll add your names.
