Came across this truck at a friend's house down the road. He is a tractor guy and has been a good friend to Adam - even let him use some of his attachments to plow some of his field this year already. Adam and him made a deal, trade the HT18 and attachments for this truck for an "early" birthday present for me. While I was at work yesterday, the boys brought it over (about a mile or so) and had it in the front yard for me. Looking forward to giving it some TLC and get it running again.

It's a 1947 Ford Kansas truck that was used on a farm. Has 80k+ miles on it, but it's super solid - I am shocked! Tilting bed and a nice flathead V8. Can you imagine some tractors on the back? (:

I've always been into old Ford trucks. This is bigger than what I had always thought of, but will serve another purpose that fits into Adam's hobby too. A good compromise!

That's amazing Michelle! To see a 1947 truck in that condition would not happen up here where we use salt on the roads in the winters. That truck will look super with some tractors on the back. Nice present!

Cool, that brings back some old memories. The neighbor had one like that way back when. I had 52 Ford with the flathead 8 at one time. Kurtee

Awesome Ford you have there ! Also, what a great idea for a BD present. I hope restoration goes smoothly and you will be suprized when that engine comes back to life. They were stong runners and sound sweet. Have you picked out your color/colors yet? Keep us posted.

Currently we dont plan to restore the truck. Were just hoping to revive its old glory and enjoy using it. Hopefully replace some missing parts and repair a few things thats about it for now.

Good idea, as it's a huge job to restore such a machine. It is a solid looking truck and a worthy project! Quite a rise to load GT's onto, as you don't want much tilt to the bed at all while loading. Best to build a long long ramp. Now if you had a hydraulic liftgate.......!!

The exhaust ports are probably rusted through, and the block is most likely cracked. It's hard to find a good flathead.
