Well, sounded cheap! 20hp must be bigger physically than 16? He sure whacked out the hood!

Must be an Onan CCKB, as they are 19.9hp. Yes, they are bigger, and much heavier than the stock engine. Cast iron block, steel rods, cast intake & exhaust. The crank position is much higher too, but not a problem for driving the hydro, or to drive the deck, as you'd just use longer belts. But notice he only points out "FRONT" pto. With the crank position so high, I doubt very much that the rear pto shaft can be used.

Those are a nice tractor. Did they come with a 16 single or a twin? Maybe i'm thinking of the 1650 that was a K341. I like the belt drive setup myself. It's easy to maintain and gives some shock protection to the drivetrain.

Yes, the 50 series used the Kohler K singles, while the 55 series used the twin Onan. I prefer the direct drive like the 50 series used. The hydro itself has built in shock protection pretty much.

I forgot about them being hydro! That's another advantage of hydros! Self limiting under a shock load.
