Ok, Guys I'm going to need some advice/ ideas here.

I'm looking at getting decals reproduced for this mower and I took pics and measurements and sent them to sams Bolens as I normally do when trying to get decals made. Well I got an e-mail back from sam telling me he didnt want to take on the challenge. He told me if he made them they would cost around $45 per decal :wallbanging:

I also e-mailed him with a Green brier parts request and this is what I got back:
sorry...I can't keep pricing the number of parts that you have requested every few weeks. If you need a specific part I will be glad to get you a price...but not these long lists of parts...I just don't have the time.

I must have spent at least $2,000 with sam over the years of me restoring these tractors, you would think he would be a bit more friendly!

Well, I guess He just doesn't want my business anymore!

Anyone know of someone who makes custom decals??

I forgot to add that I got the new tires on it and got to drive it around yesterday! :dancingbanana:

2 Things I learned

1) It moves very slow
2) It has a turning radius the size of Texas! :D

I am going to be sending them a decal layout for the HT20D soon.He has already did a layout for the later style HT23 using mine as the templet. I have to email him thought as he made a mistake as to the year they are for on his site.

Brian, I don't understand how these guys can treat their customers that way. I see it more and more all the time in my business.

I guess they have forgotten how to take care of their customers. So sorry!!.

I would recommend using an online vendor-- lower overhead tends to lead to lower prices. Although... you do run the risk of the product not meeting your expectations. Which is why I presume you're not going with Maple Hunter???

Also, I don't mean to get on here and troll, but I had a similar experience with Sam's. I hadn't spent the money you have, but I was poised to and when I replied to one of his emails for some clarification he basically told me he'd made it as clear as he could and didn't know what else I could possibly need to understand. Anyways, I made my purchase elsewhere.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions Guys
I think I'll e-mail that "click it and stick it" site and see what they have to say first.
No offense to maple hunter decals, but their Bolens decals they make just dont seem to meet the level of quality and detail I'm looking for.

Wilberj: I think you have a Bolens Suburban rider correct?
What does your PTO decal say if yours is still intact. I know yours is newer than mine but I'm guessing they may have said the same thing as Mine is missing entirely.

Sounds like he's never heard; "..Thou shalt not shoot thyself in the foot ". Referrals can take you a long way; in one direction, or the other..'customer service isn't a room on the third floor, it's a shared experience'. Happy hunting, I'm confident you'll get the right stuff.

Update:

I was able to get the decals reproduced :dancingbanana: And instead of paying $45 per decal like sam said it would cost I got the entire custom set for $48 plus shipping!

I will get some pics uploaded of my progress on the mower within the next few days. I'm currently working on fabricating a front grille for the mower as the original was missing.

Brian, that's a super price! And I'm sure you already knew I can't do intricate decals with small text.

Yes, I did remember you telling me that.
Some of the text on these was pretty small
