Some new neighbors are moving in across the road from my parents. I've been out pretty regularly to help get the GT's and farm tractors going to get the different fields tilled and the weeds and bushes cut down. I had just finished for the day when their new neighbor's came to mow their new yard. It is a three acre lot. Two acres or more haven't been cut in over two years. They had a push mower. The next time I came out, I told them that I would take care of the overgrown lawn when I had a chance.

I walked the yard carefully beforehand for rocks and other surprises and started out with the Bolens Iseki 192 and the brush hog mower.

It turned out pretty good.

The best part was how appreciative they both were when they saw it later that day. They estimated a hundred years with the push mower. I also recommended a used GT place where I had a good experience. It was nice to help people as I was raised.

Thanks for the pics Dave. That would have been a long term project mowing with a push mower. Sounds like you made some new friends. Another reason we are on the this site, some very helpful GT owners.

My parents neighbors still haven't moved in and they don't have more than the push mower. The neighbor on the other side mowed half the lawn so I went back over and did the other half.

I took a picture of the Bolens this time.

Dave,

If I leave now Chris, I should be there by midnight. lol

Is that driving the Bolens?

Dave, wish my neighbor was like you. They've been letting me run under the false impression that my property was up to his shrubs. Even used the phrase "your side of the bushes" a couple of times when we were discussing the new sewage right of ways for the Boro. I have been keeping that part of the lawn for 15 yrs, mowing, seeding, etc. Never a word... until I parked a camper there for a month. His wife (Gladys Cravitts) had a fit... had a surveyor come in and drive a bunch of stakes. I measured it. Just inches over the line. All it would have taken is a note, friendly word, phone call, etc & no hard feelings. :wallbanging:

Last oz of gas I use on mowing that grass and my kids will never have to weed whack around them again as a friendly gesture.

Take care of your neighbors when you have good ones. They can be hard to find.

15 years? Seems like many places that would transfer ownership of that land to you. I have no idea what hoops you might have to jump through, nor what you might have to prove. Certainly understand a lack of desire to do any more on it though.

Way to go Dave! Nice Bolens. Those are fairly common up here and still demand a good price. I've seen them up to 27 hp and many of them with Backhoes.
