Hey!
Here is your laugh for the day. Remember I asked about ball bearings on the floor around my QT17? Well they were from my head! I found they were from the wheels on my floor jack. I used it to lift the rear end. GEEZ LOUISE

Good Day,

When Bolens stopped making the QT series, was that model ever called anything else? I see the 1600, 1800, Eliminator series ect, were any of these identical to the QT or was that the end of the line? I ask cause I see alot of the 1800 up here. Do they compare?

Thanks!

The QT 17's were bult from 1979-1983 the last model of the QT series was the QT-19 1983-1985
As far as I know, these models only had one name.

I'm not shure if the eliminator series is compatible.....

Good Day!

I currently own a 1666 (QT17). Does anyone know if a 1668 is identical except for the briggs 16? Is it still the same heavy frame and such? THX

From what limited knowledge I have in these series Bolens, It appears that they are basically the same besides the engine....

Here is the link to the 1668 parts list that you can mabye take a look at and see if it looks like your QT17

Thanks for the info! I found the XL series is light duty and less hydro than the QT. For instance the mower deck is driven by a belt and not the PTO (shaft). I guess I have to keep looking! Man they are hard to find.

Have a great day!

Good Day!

Well I managed to find another QT17 but this one is in good shape! It is being shipped all the way from Bourbon, MO! The fleet increases as the space in my garage shrinks. The old lady is going to be opening a can of whoop-ass for sure!

Good Day,
This new Bolens QT17 must have been one of the last made as it has some differences not reflected in the manuals. First off the serial and model plate is no longer metal but just a sticker. Also there is a running light on the dash?? Lastly the mower deck rear hanger is completely different...no scissors. The only problem this unit has is the jerkies. It is like riding a bucking bronco! Probabhy air? Recomendations?
Have a good one!
