Thanks Bill, wondered if there were any around here. Ryan, I like to look at the models to see more details to add to the project.

Hi Don,

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is it that you didn't like about the look of the front tires ?

From what I can see in your last picture entry, I thought it would look nice !

The front tires were too short compared to the ones in the pictures I see of the real 4020's fromt the 60's and 70's with front wheel assist. I got some taller ones coming so we'll see if they looks right . If not, I'll just go to 6-12 tri-rib tires on the front. Here is todays progress picture of the front hood angle being converted from angling back to angling forward. Still got more to do on it but I got a good start on it today.

That should help bring it around to a 'large tractor' look. I knew something was missing, forgot about that front angling forward!

I was wondering when you were going to do that, can't be a 4020 without the front of the hood angling forward! Looks great!

I am just roughing in things now and will go back and redo and fine tune things later. Today I worked on roughing in the left side front corner panel and the front panel. The front tires are just sitting there and won't be used on the front but they are cute looking tires and they were a cute price too, ha,ha,

Here is a picture of the front tires on the real 4020 with front wheel assist. You can see they are much taller than my front tires.

I think you could get by with those you have. The model pic may be out of proportion!

Looks good, Don! I agree with Kenny, I think you would be absolutely fine with those tires.

I think it looks good no matter what kinda tire size you put on it! Either way its gonna look killer when its all done , cant wait to see the finished product.

Don,

I also think the tire wheel combo you have look nice but I also understand that it is yours and it isn't turning out like the mental picture or model you have.

What I see when comparing the full size to your tractor is that on the full size, the front tires cover the frame with their height and the rears come up to about the lower hood level, with yours being a bit shorter both front and rear.

Once again, I think yours looks very nice the way you have it now

Don, I have to agree and believe that proportionally, your tires look correct. Tires on tractors seem to be size x on front, and size 2x on rear. But spend the money as you please, we will be more than happy to help you spend more lol.

Thanks for the positive feedback , I have more tires coming on Tues. that are a few inches taller. And then part of me wants to just order some nice looking tri ribs for the front because that is how most 4020's looked back in the 70's. That is the fun thing I can change my mind and still enjoy it. I am still having so much fun with these little tractor projects. I got four more ag tires coming Tue. and two of them are for the rear of the narrow front jd 530 project. I still need to order two more sets of tri ribs for the 530 and for the sporty project front wheels. I want to go with chrome or aluminum wheels for that with a cool chrome exhaust stack. No word yet on the 110 engine. I still have to rework the front hood to get the right shape . Today i will move forward to the front weights design and post that picture tonight .

Today I worked on the design for the front weights. I got much of them roughed in and Monday I'll do more work on the side frame mounts.
