My grandsons first reaction to see his very own custom , shiny garden tractor was a big flop . He was more interested in playing with a stick and a big rock on the ground . I hope he still has fun here on vacation regardless :confuse:

Don,
Great photo. Make a great poster to hang on the shop wall.
He'll grow into it for sure. When my kids were that old they would as soon play with the box as the toy inside.

Don't feel bad about it Don, my grand kids had rather play video games or chase the dog than ride on a tractor. The 10 year old and the 2 year old will sit on them but the 4 year old could care less. They will however get in the trailer and let me pull them out into the pasture. Give him a few years and he'll love that tractor. Great picture for him to have in a few years.

Take him for a ride on it... My little girl (will be two on Wednesday) starts crying when she sees me get on the mower and not let her ride and it all started when I took her for her first ride. Great picture nonetheless.

Once he started pushing the lights and seeing them flashing he liked it a lot. He did like the little wagon I made for him. He loves pulling it around . Tomorrow we'll fire one of the tractors up and pull him in the wagon, then slowly see if he is scared of the engine noise or not.

Sometimes it takes the younger ones a bit to 'see the light'. Glad he is taking a shine to his tractor!

I think I am going to ease up on toy building and build a few 1/2 scale tractors to try to sell . Looks like the narrow front tractors are the biggest hit of all. So I will build a few of those this winter and build a piece of tillage equipment behind each one to sell as a package deal. This will be a very exciting new venture for me even if they don't sell it is a good reason to buy 5 or ten more tractors :bounce:
PS , could we keep this a secret from the wife that it will be fine even if they don't sell :confuse:

Don, you need a hiding place to keep them out of her sight for a few months. Then when she finally spots one and asks when you got that one just reply that it's one you've had for a while. Worked really well when my wife took a look at some of my guns.

My wife is so nice to me she don't care what i buy . She knows over 40 years of being around me 99% of the time I make a dollar or two on every crazy purchase I make . She knows how much fun i have working on things and transforming them to often look much nicer .

I stopped and looked at a garden tractor yesterday and Deb said i could buy it if i wanted it. I told her I am done !!! forever ?? I'm still thinking about if I should have bought it ??

Don, you are never done thinking about which ones you should buy or should have bought. We have enough tractors between farm and garden tractors that we are building a new shed this year. The 50x80 shed for the big tractors has gotten to full and we are building a 38x54 for the garden tractors and also our gooseneck and lowboy trailers.
