Todays progress picture shows me sanding the seat after shaping and welding the metal parts together . Also I completed the right side rear axle for a little more detail. Still got a lot to do but it is slowly taking shape. Monday I have to put the four garden tractors aside and get back to model building . It sure has been fun and I will be excited to get back to them after the next model is done in a few weeks.

Today I am busy sanding the fenders , hood , and doing more bodywork and should get the bare metal parts all primed this afternoon to keep them from rusting as they set for a few weeks while I shift back to toy building tomorrow. I did get the new issue of Lagt Magazine at the TSC store the other day and it is another very good issue.

It's great to see you applying your model building skill to 1/2 scale tractors using GT's and enjoying it. Will you be letting us in on your next model build?

Yes, I'll post the Komatsu mass excavator model progress once a week .Here is todays progress as i got all the bare metal parts sanded and primed on the half scale jd 730 . It looks much different than just a week ago and exactly where i was hopingit would be tonight. I got the workbench cleaned and the komatsu excavator parts back out . Thanks again for all the positive comments over the last few weeks on the four garden tractor projects. It has been so much fun. Now all four are half way done and it will be easy to progress from this point on all of them. I could still get all four of them done by the end of the summer and start on the 5 bottom plow for the 4020 early fall. Also want to make a cute 4 wheel wagon to pull behind the 730 . Thinking also about making a little pulling sled to hook to the grandsons pulling tractor and make it a cool gas grill and not a real working sled.

I couldn't wait so I worked on the model most of the day and headed back to the 730 last night for a few hours. I Think I'm Hooked and want to buy tractor number 8 to make a second narrow front, ha,ha.

Great work Don. I'll check out your Komatsu build and be waiting for you to finish these 1/2 scale models later this year.
