There is a shaft sticking out on the right side of my JD 212 but no pedal and from the looks of the shaft there never was a pedal there. The left side pedal locks down with the parking brake lock knob and stops the tractor.

When I go to the JD Parts web site it just shown parking brake linkage parts for all 212s after serial number 95,000 and mine is serial number 286,021.

So I am assuming that my 212 is not supposed to have a brake pedal even though the decal says it should.

Thanks,
Bill

Did a bit of poking around on JDParts and found the info you are looking under the "alphabetical search" then the "linkage, brake" option for tractors over 95,000 to find the attached pic:
The pedal is item # 24
JP Part # AM36450
