Found a decent, unmolested JD 140 H3 on Craiglist today. It came with a front, full hydraulic snow plow, front weights, rear weights, tire chains, and a rear weight box.

It does not run the best right now, and it is leaking some oil. But for the price, and options it came with, I am very pleased.

I did check a few things when I got it home. It is the crank seal on the PTO side that is leaking. I think it can be changed without pulling the motor. I also put new points and a spark plug in. It is running better, but I think the carb needs attention. I will also pull the head to remove any carbon, and go from there.

I already have 3 other Deeres. I plan on selling the 1972 Deere 110 after the bugs get worked out of this one.

Boy is she in good looking shape! I'm sure you'll be happy with her. The seal is easy replaced without pulling the engine.

Nice find! Gotta love a nice original tractor. I wish my 120 looked half that good.

I agree with everyone else, Nice Tractor! I had a 140 H1 for over 20 years and loved it. Always wanted the front blade, even if I didn't have much use for it.

Wow! Really nice 140. Wheel weights front and rear is something you don't see often. Congrats!

Your right. The front wheel weights are extra rare. More people went with a front weight bracket instead. I added up the prices that all the accessories would sell for ( If I wanted too, I don't ), when I was figuring out if the price was right. ( It was )

I have a lot going on right now. But, if I can get the engine running right, with anything else than a full rebuild, I plan on taking it to olcowhand's plow day. If its not ready, I think the 214 will make the trip.
