Have you tried Fenner drives? They are not cheap but they are an excellent product. You can make them into any size and really reduce vibration.

I have edited the list and have taken off the Gates Belt numbers as there was an error in the Gates Matches.

If you have any questions about belts/ sizes part #'s not on the list Let me know.

I recently purchased the correct size FHP belts for my 1220 from NAPA. They even had a parts book that showed correct belts for the entire Bolens line of Tube Frame tractors.

The drive belt p/n is 4L340W.

Less than $20.00 for the pair.

I share this here because I know we have Bolens users out here in the west and sometimes you need to get your tractor back to work and can't wait 3-5 days to get something for your tractor out of the mid-west.

The only problem with FHP belts is they are "Fractional Horse power Belts" which means they are not power rated. I originally used these belts and had them last me about 3 months before they blew apart.

I don't usually have the fancy "matched set" belts last more than one season. I thought I would try these since they were listed at my local parts store as a recommended alternative.

If mine blow apart in three months, I will share it here.

Seems like some have good luck with them and others dont. Keep us updated on the belts
Got any pictures of your Bolens? :wewantpics: :

What brand did you get the matched sets in? Did you get the kevlar belts?

Ok. i have a belt question???? Do we have any list for belts on the walking tractor?? You have posted a nice list of 4 wheeler belts, but it looks like one would need to have a manual for the parts numbers to get a belt. Is there any place that could just say...the 12bb used X xXX belt at the drive pully or this size for the mower, blower and etc.

Its a real pain to measure the pulleys, then goes to the store get 3 differnt sized belts, take them home, then go back to the store with 2 of them because they didnt fit. Im sure lots of guys have been there on this .

Thats a Good Idea
I will look into to this and see what info I have.

If anyone already has some belt info, feel free to make a new thread and then it can be added as a sticky later

I read on this thread that the drive belts for the 1256 and the 1050, which I have, were 34 inch length so I bought 4 blue kevlar belts and they are too long, ordered them online and can't return them.. I think I need the 1/2 x 30 and I think it's the same size for both the 1050 and the 1256 but I'd like to know for sure before I buy 4 more belts, but more important, wanted to give you a heads up that they aren't 34 inch so you don't buy the wrong ones.

The Bolens drive belts are indeed 34'' in length....
I think the place you may have got them from may have given you the wrong size...
What brand of kevlar belts are these?

I got them from Northern Tool, Pix blue kevlar and it says 1/2 x 34 right on the belts too and the belts I took off my 1256 are noticably smaller, and I found one place on the internet a little bit ago that said the drive belts were 1/2 x 30 and that seems more like it but I wanted to make sure before I bought any more. Not 100% if they will work on my 1050 but I think they might. I also bought a couple of 42 inch for the pto and they are ok.. sure has me puzzeled and I am very new to the garden tractor hobby.

The Belts definitely are 34'' I have a belt measuring tool and Measured a set of NOS Ones I have and they are 34''
What makes you believe the belts you bought are too long? Is your Idler spring possibly worn out? Do you have the original engine mounts in place? confuse.gif
