I have a Snapper 1650 A with a 16 HP Kohler engine (314).
It appears that my carburator has finally worn out. Can anyone tell me where I can get a match? The Snapper dealership was a deadend. If you know how much they run please share that too.

Thanks,
Mark

Dumb question but....how do I find the site sponsors? All I could find was how to be one.

A new carb is expensive! I copied from one place & pasted below. May be much cheaper sources, but not sure.

Part No. 45 853 09-S AKA Part No. 4585309-S, supersedes 45 853 01-S AKA 4585301S

Our Price $233.45

Thanks so much. I received a call from the guy working on my tractor and it appears that the carburator is ok. He has traced the problem backto the electrical system, maybe a ground issue. We will see.........

Tractor ran great for about 30 minutes then started going crazy again. I found a small hole in the fuel line and repaired that. It also appears that the points are not firing correctly. I am going to try to pick up another pair tomorrow and see if that will do the trick. I was wondering it the points could be bypassed and have an electronic ignition installed in its place? I have one mechanic tell me yes and another no. Has anyone done this?
