Happen to see a White FST Cruisematic 14 HP on ebay. I never saw a lawn tractor with four wheel steering. I'm not buying just wondering if anyone ever used one? How they liked it? Might be something fun to customize.

Four wheel steering or AWS (all wheel steering) is nothing new nor is it confined to White. Ingersoll has used it, so has Deere and several other brands. They certainly cut the turning radius down but they are complicated due to the number of parts needed to make this happen. So like many ideas, they are OK when new but as the mower ages, problems can set in that become expensive to maintain.

I have a John Deere LX 277 AWS with a 48 in. deck. It will cut in a 1.5 hours what took 2.5 hours with my JD 400 with a 60 in. deck. I bought new in 2000. The rear steer is getting a little sloppy. Going to have to fix it.
