Well, I am on the official last load of the fertilizer spring rush season! No more big checks, but enough to make a living and get home earlier to get home chores done, or just rest. Both t the spreader and sprayer in field at same time. Wettest fields they have.

So, now you finally get to see what us 9-5 types live like? I bet you either go crazy in a month, or your farm looks like a magazine spread!

 9-5?  I work 7-3:30

Glad you get a break and sounds like you may get a full time steady income also.

My normal hours will be 8 to 5, up to an hour unpaid lunch, half hour minimum. Will be nice having some "me time" for sure. In last field now. Intermittent internet signal being down in a holler.

I've averaged 7 to 5 for the last few years.  A couple days a week its 7 to whenever, or 7 to 5 sleep a couple go out on midnight shift and that usually runs well over into day shift.

It's great to see you using your skills and making some good money Daniel. I hope the full time position works out. I wouldn't be surprised if you still get asked to work some OT when things are busy.

I only work part time now but I worked 7am-3pm for over 30years. I'm still working the early shift- 6:30-2:30 but only 2 days a week.

When they said the rush was over this morning, I figured it would be a shorter day.  Ended up 13&3/4 hours getting home almost 8:30.  Gotta be there by 6:30am tomorrow.  I guess they just meant no more 10 to 11pm nights.  Things will still be pretty busy another week or 2 I'd say.  Alright with me!

Got off at 5 today!  Brought a loaded tender truck home for the next spreader job in the morning.....my place.  I get paid for helping spread on my own farm!  Can't get to the Evansville tractor show now, but duty calls.

Rode the RTV through the pasture last night, and most is too thick to bush hog, so soon as I can get the time I'll have to cut & roll it off.  What isn't thick enough for rolling hay, I'll bush hog down later.

Al, one of my neighbors was coming home yesterday with his Dad & brother in a vehicle behind him.  He saw them have a wreck that took his Dad's life.  He stopped & told Teresa today, so I'm going to see him this evening.  He wasn't home a while ago.  His Dad was a GREAT gentleman!  So sad, and Al has been through a lot.  Several years ago, his wife died in his arms from a clot.  Now he saw his Dad lose his life.
