Nursing home issues... Don't get me going.....this issue is a direct failure of government . Families can loose everything they worked their entire life for over this... I know ... My mother is in one..... At 69 years old.....
And dang!! That knee has got to hurt!! ouch!! Get that farm in a trust! Its the safest way to keep money grubbing paws off it.

Knee joint very painful this morning, and got little sleep last night.  But almost no swelling, just a little bit.  One hour before work time, so hoping it will loosen up enough to be able to work.

Praying for you guys. I wondered how KY was so different on nursing homes than OH but I was glad for you, now I'm concerned, they virtually wiped me and Char out with both our mom's back to back. I may never really dig out. Skyryder mentioned a trust? I guess you really need to get with sisters and your attorney that's been helping and sort the best option. I know your gonna make it thru the knee (man that looks painful) but get some professional help on that nursing home issue...

I hope you told the boss about whacking your knee.

Yes, he knows.  When I could walk a lot, the knee would be decent when I got in the truck today.  But in just a few minutes with it bent 90 degrees sitting in the seat, it would get painful again, making it very difficult to clutch.  I had to assist with the right foot to press the clutch down, then my hurt leg could just barely keep it down while I applied the brakes.  Every intersection & traffic light I would time to where I might not have to clutch.  Tomorrow I hope it's better, but usually the 3rd day is the worst with stuff like this.  Getting out of the truck was maybe the most painful.  I looked like a 110 year old man trying to get to the ground.

Dad is getting worse.  He told me tonight that he spoke to my sister Wanda this morning about the nursing home charges being refunded.  Wanda hasn't talked to him at all today & he went into details about what they supposedly talked about.  It never happened.  I have no idea what to do, as he's getting angry about all this.  I can't afford to take off work & jeopardize my employment to tend to all this.  I called the nursing home today and they typed up a full explanation as to why Mom doesn't qualify for medicare with official letterhead .  Teresa had to stop and pick it up as I was working late....12hrs today.

I showed Dad the letter and he got an almost wild eyed look and said "what the heck is going on".  He even said the nursing home called him today apologizing for their errors and that all the money would be returned.   Simply made up in Dad's mind.

As far as the farm, it is all in mine & Teresa's stock as a corporation, and I've been told it is safe, but nothing is truly safe.

Hang in there Daniel.  A rough ride ahead it seems.  I can imagine you reaching a boiling point a bit faster these days.

Teresa had to help me out of bed this morning due to the intense pain in my knee. Finally got it loosened up and went to work expecting to be sent home. My transfer truck was loaded and running and short handed as it is, I told my boss I'd do my best. Knee is actually handling the clutch better today! Maybe it'll get better here on.

Looking like maybe 13 hours today, then head home and feed heifers, then me. Been a good day so far. Tonight should make 15hrs overtime this week and still have chance for overtime tomorrow. Lots to do on the farm this weekend getting sold equipment ready for transport.

That knee will be an issue for a while! My right wrist has decided to play Carpal Tunnel on me right now. A real pain in the mornings, but better as the day goes on. Glad to hear of the OT. I haven't seen OT wages in years

When I was having to use a cane I would occasionally use ti to help me work the clutch. I just put it on my toe and pushed down. It was better than breaking in to tears every time I had to shift gears.
