Seems we are right in the thick of it here.  Started about an hour agoe with 12+ total predicted and 40 mph winds.

Out side right now.

13hr day.  Had to kick in both axles to get up one steep drive, then down a steep hill, cross a creek, the up another steep hill.  When I came back empty, on the steep approach to the road below (going very slow), my wheels were scooting in the gravel!  Kinda gave a little pucker factor, but it stopped in time.  Hauled 4 loads today after all, then when I got in to the store, boss needed me to haul 1/2 a load to Dane where he was spreading.  I rode a few rounds with Dane till there was room to offload my truck.  Dark well before I left the field.  Just ate some supper, now need to shower & call it a day.  Here's a few pics of one of the 2 trucks I drive.  Both are the same.

My first load was 40,000lbs, and it was mighty squirrly & swaying driving down the narrow highways.  On main highways it's fine.

Sick all night last night and today, but managed to make it through work.  Running a 101 fever most of last night, then again after lunch and still have it.  I don't work tomorrow, and that's a good thing, as I don't think I could handle it.  Tossed my cookies after lunch.  Sorry for the TMI.  But it's been a tough 20hrs with almost no sleep last night.  Have to miss funeral home visitation of a good friend's Dad tonight, as I can't go coughing my head off and risking upchucking.  I gotta go pick up the porta pot this weekend no matter what.

Geeze, and I was just going to comment how well you were adjusting to the day job. Man you gotta get better !

101 is nothing to fool with...I've always been suspect that its the day jobs that do us in NOT the farm, but then if we could make enough farming we wouldn't need the day jobs...But then you've been helping out with doctors appointments and such and those are really good places to get sick too.

Hang tough, everybody I know that has the chucking flu is over it in 3 days, the coughing/hacking one seems to go forever !

Fever is nearing 102 and I'm cold to the bone.  Ate some soup, now gonna lay down & put about a dozen blankets over me.  I've been laying down for an hour and a half till Teresa got home from Good Friday at church.

Over this weekend besides getting the porta-pot, I have to drive the payloader out & fill a few tile sinkholes.  Plus I have a lot of Brinly items I hope to sell some of on plow day, and have to get them loaded.  Bosses have no problems letting me off for plow days.  I may end up though needing help come Friday with some of it.

Daniel,
I hope this passes quickly. I understand you will have to push it, but don't go to hard as you'll end up sicker.
Been a bug running thru work here too. Wiping us out one or two at a time.
Almost better if it would lay waste to all of us for a day and be closed vs the mayhem that has been the last week.
When 10-15% of the workforce is out sick, it makes for interesting days.

My fever got to 102.9 last night, but nurse Teresa took good care of me, and today I feel more like I want to live now.  Still slight 99.2 fever, but man am I sore from coughing & heaving yesterday.
