Glad to hear the job is going well.  I know you were worried about going into the public market but it looks like you have done quite well for your self.  If I were your boss I would leave you in the shop and start bringing in some work for you to do.

Had a great day!  Some time in the shop to clean the fuel system on a Briggs engine/ water pump.  Carb fuel inlet cracked, and needs a new float needle seat.  Will finish it tomorrow.  Had to drop that to go pick up the Briggs parts, drop checks off to the Hardin county S-States, and pick up some things to go back to the Hodgenville store, but first a detour to a guy's place to drop off tobacco seed.  When I got back to the store I had to deliver a buggy of fertilize about 8 miles away, then go pick up an empty buggy, then reload it for another buggy drop-off to banjo playing/squealing pig country, but I made it out with my dignity intact!

Back to the store and there is the farmer who I delivered the 1st buggy to saying something happened to the PTO shaft.  Clint sent me to his farm with a new shaft, but there was NO getting this shaft off without heating.  The guy said "I don't know what happened", but it was so obvious, as his 3pt lift arms were up exactly to the level of the PTO shaft, and I politely pointed that out.  He was a bit embarrassed and reached up & dropped the 3pt arms.  He hit a dip & turn just right to where the lift arm got under the shaft & destroyed it when he leveled off still in the turn. (How do I know this so clearly.....don't ask! LOL) It was broken clean in-two with only the plastic shield holding it together. So I just hooked to it and pulled it back to the shop.  The farmer said tomorrow would be fine, but I told Clint I'd be glad to repair it right then & take it back, but he said just wait till tomorrow, so I backed it into the shop for the night.  1 hour overtime pay, and Clint wants me back tomorrow at least half a day more overtime.  When I was about to leave, it was just Clint & myself there, so I asked him if he was pleased with my work so far, and told him it was important to me that he was.  He said he was very pleased and figures things will only get even better as I acclimate to a new direction.  Made me feel darned good!  I like the diversity really....shop time, road time...mixing it up is good.  I figure it won't be much into this job before my pay bumps up like he said it would.  I miss Teresa & home, but it's really helped my mental state and Teresa has really noticed my much better mood.  This has been a good change!

Sometimes you just know when things fit.
I'm certain that once the honeymoon is over, there will be trials, but you'll weather them.

Oh yes, I'm sure there will be tough days that will make me want to toss it & go home, but that's with any job.  But I'll hang with it as long as the balance tips to my side.   Gotta be getting out the door for my overtime!

I'm really happy the new job is working out for you.  Being happy with what you are doing is very important and will make your mood's much better.  Working in a place where you enjoy the people also helps a great deal.  It will be interesting seeing how this all develops over the coming months and years.

Olde Deere's caution---- moderation in all things, over achievement can soon be expected as the norm. Keep a few cards in your pocket for future play, lol.
