Prayers will be coming your way Daniel. Sorry to hear about your Mom. It's never easy to deal with a cancer diagnosis no matter how old the person is!

I am hoping she is still with us come plow day so she can come sit and watch a while, but there are no guarantees.

Me too, Daniel. I always enjoy talking to our older folks, the history and just plain stories are always worth it.

Gave my pee test for new job this morning.  Head is killing me from sinus, but doing decent.  My roofer guy came this morning just as I was getting ready to leave, so I came home to a completed shop roof.     When I walked down to look at it, I saw the mate to the groundhog I shot a while back.  This was the daddy hog, and he was a biggun.  He shot down his hole when I saw him.  Got my 22 and used old hay to build smoky fires in both his lower entrances and waited.  His only escape was up on top where I keep it mowed, so a clear shot, and besides, I was just 7' away standing on the end wall blocks of one of the silage pits.  Took a good 10 or 15 minutes, but he finally peeked his head up and I was already trained on the hole.  The instant he popped up I got him.  The hole is 3' straight down, but I looked down in there, and he was dead.  Now maybe I can fill the hole & mow easier.  Always had to watch for the large hole he dug, but no more!

Took some cold/flu meds, and they are taking hold now, so feeling a little weird.  Don't worry, no more shooting for me today.

Hospice is registering Mom right now.  I didn't go out due to my coughing & sneezing.  Even with a cotton mask on, I felt it best not to go today.  2 of my sisters are there and Teresa.

Oh, you gonna bomb em huh!   I've seen those gopher exterminator video's where they bomb them with propane.  Looks like fun!  Be careful!

After 4 nights of partial sleep, I was a walking talking zombie today.  Went out to check on my parents.  4 people from Hospice were there, plus Teresa & I, and sister Wanda and my BIL Ronnie.  I wore a cotton mask so not to spread my cold.  I didn't stay very long due to that mask being smothering & hot.  Came home hoping to rest a bit, then maybe get the new microwave installed.  Quickly found the wall mounts have changed ever so lightly, just enough to where I couldn't use the old one already secure to the wall.  Got 1/2 into it and my brother stopped by and we talked a few hours, then after tended some phone calls.  Just talking wore me out.  I started to put off hanging the microwave, but I pushed on.  Had trouble with the flimsy materials and the way our cabinets are built.  Was about to cry uncle when I finally got it to hang proper.  New microwave is installed & operational.  The tiny shelf microwave from the 80's is less than half the size of this new one, but outweighs it!  No wonder so much stuff arrives at stores already broken.  Built so chinzy it's a miracle any make it there in one piece.

I am mentally & physically spent.  Hope to sign off early for the day.

I did get 8hrs of sleep.  Woke up a few times, but stayed in bed & fell right back to sleep.  Fella came from Division of Water to check the manure pit.  We have to have a permit to have one.  He knew we quit dairy, so took pics to confirm no manure floating in the pit, so our permit will be closed.  Guess we're "officially" out of dairy now.  Do I miss it....no.  Do I miss the people I met through the business....yes.

I felt half decent when I woke, but after getting outside in a stiff breeze to go view the manure pit, my head is clogging up solid.  Best I stay in today as much as possible.  On a scale 1-10, 10 being "feeling perfect.....I'm a 3.
