Fed the heifers 1st thing this morning, and been to town till just now.  Tuckers me out going to town, but I did pick up what I needed for the Case 570 brakes and some home shopping.  Before I left, I shut off the water to the calf barn and milk parlor, then drained all the water heaters.  This weekend brings mid 20's temps.  Tomorrow or Friday I will blow all the lines with air to be sure of no pipe freezing.

I may have to get an appointment with my neurologist, as my neck is still bothering me a lot, and the numbness in my hands is actually worse at times.  He may end up just telling me it may never get better, but I think it's better to get another followup just in case.

Ran to town to pick up a new alternator for the neighbor's Case 570.  The original was toast & not worth rebuilding.  Got home and heifers had all went to the back 40, so I drove back to check on them.  They seem right at home now, so I can relax a little.

Temps dropping to the 20's this weekend, so I've been checking the antifreeze protection in all the tractors, trucks, etc.  Just 2 need a bit more pure antifreeze & ran long enough to blend it.  Water lines to calf barn unhooked & blown out.  In the milk parlor I decided to keep just a direct line from water supply to a water hose so I'll have a place to wash my boots when in the muck.  I'll get a thermostat to put on a small electric heater to keep just that one room heated just enough to prevent freezing.

Our first snow. Had to white knuckle it all the way home from work. Pretty but real slick.

Wow Craig!  Raining here, but no danger of snow.  Maybe a flurry late tonight they say.  Got the Case 570 all buttoned up & drove back to Jerry's place.  Brakes work smooth now.  When I got there he was outside, so he saw the headlights on the tractor.  He said they never worked since he owned it.  Then I set the parking brake, and again, he said that never had worked.  Then I showed him how I put on a new solenoid so the intake glow plug would work, and once again, he said that never had worked.  He's quite happy!

Heifers went to the back 40 after eating a while this morning, and are still back there, but I think they will do fine.  Wind is up, so I may need to drive the fence line to check for downed limbs.

The outlet timer for the Cat loader's heater quit, so I found another & have it and the Massey 1130 (on feed wagon) plugged in for the cold mornings coming up.

Glad you got the 570 working good for him! I'm sure he'll spread the word about your work!

Nice work on the tractor. It sounds like he's really pleased.... Supposed to drop to 10° here tonight. Still haven't gotten the MF snow ready yet, off tomorrow so will do it then.

23 was our low....25 now at almost 8:30. This will be my first year ever that I don't have to worry about waterers freezing up. Now everything drinks from the creek that never freezes up.

10°s night b4 last, and last night 17°. Supposed to get up to 33° today, and I think it will. Got the snow blower put on the tractor last night, and got it all lubed up. Will get my snow plow installed on the other Tractor this Friday. We ended up with about 10 inches of snow.
