Gonna be making hay most of the day unless a pop-up shower gets us. If we get it done I think we'll take off for a couple days away. Nowhere special....just away.

You got that right Marty!  And thanks all!  Gonna be raking hay soon.  Sun is out and a good drying breeze.

It was always nice to make hay on days like that.I liked the smell of the freshly raked and baled hay. It used to be lots of  work after it was baled . This was before having auto bale wagons and large round / square bales like now. Always enjoyed haying time [so long as the weather was in my favor].

Can't do anything without some sort of problem.  The Massey 1130 I was raking with started leaking coolant.  Pinhole in short elbow hose off the water pump to engine block elbow.  Had Josh switch the rake to the Massey 1100 & sent him on to rake. Eating lunch, then heading out to make rolls.

Well my good friends, the hay rolling is D-U-N-N !  So I can actually do something for Teresa on our anniversary after all!  After I rest a bit, I'll get cleaned up & we're blowing this town and heading east (just 2 hours) and hitting every flea market that way over the weekend.  Leaving the farm is the ONLY way I can truly get real rest.  Family will be house & dog sitting.  Be back late Sunday (if we feel like returning LOL).  Josh & Dad will haul the hay in tomorrow.  Only made 35 rolls, but better than nothing.  This will bring our rolled hay stocks up to close to 160 rolls, and likely have that many more before end of season.  May be the most rolled hay we've ever had on hand.  Hay roller worked flawlessly after going over it after lunch lubing & adjusting.  And the good news is that in 3 more weeks my Dr says I can return to work!   :poke:  Yeah....I'm poking at myself!  :smilewink:

Always have....always will!  Actually, I truly wish I could abide by their guidelines, but my life has never allowed that.  I was able to take a whole 5 days off once I got out of the hospital after the blood clots almost killed me.  But my plan is that by year's end that I will have things closer to a slower pace and an easier life.
