Sounds like a good day. You might want to talk to the doc about the nicotine patch or something like that.

Gonna be picking up some patches soon.  Gotta whip this before long.  Things are in good shape now, but if I don't quit, it won't stay that way.

So glad to hear you had a good visit at the Dr office and that the M/F is up and running. Also was very happy to read you actually took a whole day off and rested, it does feel good to do that every once and a while. Free Meds are always a good thing, mine are mostly free with my new insurance we have and the others are only $10.00 per script in anything at all.

I didn't finish the 1130 completely, but I did park it in the shed so I can get some calf area cleaned.  I gotta get a tractor in to move the manure spreader before I can get the barn cleaned out.  All I like on the 1130 are some shields/covers, but a 3pt cylinder hose is leaking, so left them off for easy access to replace the hose later.

I've never before taken an entire day without going outside at all unless sick as a dog, but figured it best that I did.

This free inhaler med is $100 per month and no generic form!  He said this was 2 months worth of samples, but it's just 28 days.  No matter being I'll get 12 months free if we don't run into some sort of problem with the coupon.

My insurance has almost NO benefits at all towards prescriptions.

Looong morning here!  First, while getting ready to turn on the milkers, Josh called to tell me a baby calf had been holding the school bus hostage.  The calf was in the middle of the road, standing against the front bumper of the bus when he got there.  His step-daughter Gracie told the driver to call Josh, so he got the fun of rescuing the bus load of kids from the marauding little calf.  :rolling:He put the calf back in the field with the momma cow #179.

Then a couple hours later, just as I finished milking, Teresa said a neighbor called & thought we had a dead cow in the dry field.  So I run out on the 4 wheeler, and it's #179 down with early milk fever, and she had already bloated some, having been on her side.  I rushed back to the parlor & got an IV set & 4 bottles of calcium and CMPK solution.  Took over 2 hours to get 3 1/2 bottles of meds into her, and 1/2 way through the last bottle she stood up!  Hooray!  Usually it takes a few hours for them to stand.  I waited just a few minutes for her to get her legs under her better, then walked her to the dry trim holding area.  She should be fine.  Milk fever is a calcium deficiency brought on from calving in susceptible cows.

Now to eat some lunch (had to skip breakfast), then a couple small chores.  After that, I head to my surgeon's office at 2pm to get the stitches out of my neck & a checkup with him.

And ya wanna hear something that is astounding, at least to me?  Next week will be the first week since going into the hospital on Nov 4th with my lung clots that I DO NOT have a Dr appointment the entire week!   :dancingbanana:

Glad Josh got that calf rounded up! The driver should be thankful!

You have been busy this morning! Glad the Dr. visits are easing off. Maybe you'll get some work done around there, slacker! :bigrofl:

Glad you get a break from the docs. They may not use leeches as much anymore, but they will still bleed you dry.

No thanks, it's cold enough as it is here.  Below zero wind chill, and gonna get colder.  Plenty of problems going on already!

Wind was impressive here today too. I had to tie Steph to the bumper of the truck so she didn't blow off while loading a car.
