I want to kill car designers every time I work on one!  Back in the day you could climb up in the engine bay & sit beside a straight six.  Not now, and everything is in the way of what you have to get to.  Had to pull the radiator, and what a nightmare to get the clamps off the hoses.  Of course it doesn't help that I'm worn out, and it doesn't help that there's no relief for me in the near future either, but it still has to get done.  I'm as far as I can go till I get the new part, and I milk morning & night tomorrow, so it won't start back together until Saturday earliest, and I milk morning & night that day too.  I do have Sunday off, but I have TONS to do to get ready for plow day, and it's taking all the joy out of it.  Hoping I feel better mentally by plow day, but I know I'll be exhausted physically.

Anyways, here's where I am.  You can see where the harmonic balancer is coming apart.  The top side should all be flush.

Instead of Plow day maybe you should have fix it day.  Instead of bring your tractor bring your tools!  With the talent we have on this site everything would be fixed in no time.

The last year or more has been the worst in my life.  If it weren't for Teresa, I think I'd have lost it long ago.  But then what choice do I have but keep trying?

I have never seen one come apart like that. I would check with Chrysler and see if there might be a recall.

Do a Google search for Cherokee harmonic balancer.  Quite common I'm afraid.  The parts Jeep balancer was missing rubber but still in the proper place, so I opted for new.  Less than $50 anyway.

Ummmm..... I may need to unload a few things from my truck. Lets see, toolbox, longframe jack, post puller, farm jack, impact wrench.... yep that's all of it. Wait, I need that stuff for plow day! I could be convinced to stay, cold fresh milk straight out of the bulk tank goes a long way!

Yeah, I had the same thing happen on my first truck, a '73 Chevy. Of course, it blew up at 3600 RPM, when I tried to engine brake!
