Been praying for you to get some good news. Glad to hear you are getting the rain AND that Josh found the cows giving you the problems!

Yes, my mood has been lifted to the clouds!  Gonna still be a rough road with the dairy herd, but having 2 huge issues at once is a lot to bear.  Thanks the Lord the rains came!  Just got another 1/10", so at 1.2" here at my place, but just 1/2 mile up at Josh's, he's likely at 1 3/4" and out at Dad's possibly 2 1/2".  This last shower just glanced me, but I could see it raining much heavier up at Josh's & likely even harder out at Dad's.  Dad was at 2" early this morning.  I can breathe a sigh of relief for the corn for now.

Tornado watch issued for my entire region.  Now a tornado is something I DO NOT need!

It looks like you are on the western edge of the watch and it will maybe move on east and do nothing more then maybe some more rain for you.

Wow nothing like good news followed by terrifying news. Hoping the tornado warning is all for nothing.

With SO much going on as far as farming issues, I've not been posting as much the last couple days, and likely won't post as much for a while.  But I'll try to help when/if I can, and keep you updated on the farm happenings.

Yesterday I went to my cousins for some rear tractor tires he wanted to get shed of.  One tire was off the rim, and after inspecting it just had a small hole where what looked like a metal piece went through it.  I booted the tire, then put in a new tube, and got aired up last night.  This morning the air pressure exactly where I left it last night, so I bled off the air, then filled with alcohol/water mix.  Getting ready to put this tractor back on the silage feed wagon.

The guy is coming today to get 5 of the 14 cows I bought from him due to high SCC scores, and 2 that have uterine infections.  I have 2 of my own that have to go, so if he makes a decent offer, he can take those to market, which will save me valuable time.  He'll be here fairly soon.  At noon I have a concrete groover coming to give me a quote & inspect where the grooving is needed for cow traction.  One cow saved from leg injury & the grooving is paid for.

Then I called this morning for another load of gravel.  BUSY day!

I am on extreme edge awaiting my latest SCC bulk tank sample.  Hoping to know by tomorrow evening if I finally got it below max limit.

Cattle guy came and loaded his cows & bought my 2 culls, so no trip to the stockyard for me today.  Paid me every cent back on the bad heifers, and a decent price for the cows.  He also has connections for kiln dried sawdust, and called the supplier while he was here.  First load will be delivered next week.  Less than 1/2, maybe 1/3 what we've been giving for the compressed bales.  It will be finer, as it's not chips like we've been using, but MUCH cheaper & does the same job.
