Storms with heavy rain coming towards me, but unfortunately, it appears the section that will come over me isn't heavy rain at this time.  I'll take any amount, but I sure pray for a lot.  Today our corn looks pitiful, and without measurable rain, it's not gonna be worth much at all.  It really dried up the last 2 days.

Went to Rafferty's, and the cook skipped out while cooking our steaks & the manager had to take over cooking.  Took a while, and ended up not so great food, but we had good company, so had a good time.

Just in the last 5 minutes, radar shows the heavy rain expanded to be coming my way!  I hope soon I'll be.... :dancingbanana:

I should be asleep, but I'm watching & listening to the RAIN!   Not sure how much we'll get, but this is music to my soul!  Pretty windy, so may end up with some roof damage on the older buildings, but that's ok, as we need the rain regardless.

My prayer was answered!  The rain has intensified & filled in ahead of me.  Looking like an appreciable rainfall total.  More than I expected for sure!  Yep, staying up just to listen to it.  A glimmer of light at a dark time for sure.

Down to a light, but steady rain.  4/10" so far, so I'm sure we'll end up with 1/2" or more.   2 or 3 inches over 3 days sure would be nice! But that's not happening, so I'll be happy with what I've got or get.

Guess I better hit the sack.  5 am will get here way too soon.

1/2" in the rain gauge, but heavy storms so close I couldn't go get my cows in.   They have hit & the winds are bad.  Gotta wait till things calm before daring to go out. Lightning everywhere, and intense.  I'm getting the rain I wanted!  In just the last few minutes we've likely got an additional 2/10 or 1/4" and more coming.

Glad the moisture is coming down! We haven't have several days of rain in quite some time around here.

:dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:   1.1" of rain in gauge!!!!!!!!!   Dad got 2" just 2 miles away!   Our prayers were answered!  Of course we'll need more rain as time goes along, but this gives us a good chance of pulling off a half decent corn crop, and for now avert high nitrate levels in the silage.

ALSO, Josh found the culprit cows that were still putting out mastitis last night.  So we're dumping those now also.  I am almost certain we'll get a good SCC score from tomorrow's milk tank sample.  We'll suffer some financial loss for a while, but we "may" be on the way to a better outlook.  At least things seem to be headed the right direction.
