Well, let her cool off a while, then go to start it......she started then died!  Restarted fine after, but issue is still there.  Back to the drawing board.  And Willie....no sale!  :smilewink:   I don't give up easy!

Seems the ECM/PCM (computer) tends to have solder issues on the regulator board inside.  They say most of the reman units were rebuilt by simply re-soldering these connections.  I will check my unit as soon as I can, likely tomorrow evening. Bringing Dad home from rehab tomorrow right after morning milking, and I have a ton of other things needing done if I get the time.

Forgot to post.  When Josh went to scrape the lots & alleys yesterday, he found a cow dead in a stall.  Not hung up in any way, just laying there like resting.  Young 1st calf heifer too, and seemed fit as a fiddle.  This happens now & then without any visible reason.  Likely just dropped dead of heart attack.   Been working on my Jeep some, now time to go milk.

Well ,that stinks. My sister was telling me her coworker's dad had a healthy apperaing yearling colt just drop dead, found it the next morning, no apparent reason. We've had a lot of goat deaths up our way also, maybe something in the air, one of "those years" type thing.

I have a simliar issue with my Firebird, the body control module has loose solder connections, the radio will go off and windows won't work. It's just been to cold for my to go pull it out and re-solder connections.

hopefully that will fix your issue.

Glad grandpa is home and feeling much better. Slight chance I might get to see you this weekend. Heading to Texas, I plan on stopping by mom and dads to spend the night Before heading the rest of the way down. Can't bring the twins down cause of sisters in school so it'll just be me and Sue.

Well, the computer had perfect solder connections, so I checked fuel pressure & it was great, then headed toward swapping out the ignition coil, but didn't think it was the case as I've had 5 Jeep Cherokee's and none ever had any coil issues.  Soon as I got it unbolted & out where I could get a good look at it, it was apparent the coil was bad.  Cracked all the way up one side, then 2 more cracks starting at the base.  The good  Jeep has flat pin connectors instead of the round pins that the 96 parts Jeep has, so I cut the plugs off, then soldered for a good connection & shrink wrapped them.

Took the Jeep for a drive.................SHE LIVES!   :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:  :dancingbanana:

Man does that take a load off me!  She ran absolutely perfect.  I spent $108 on the cam position sensor & the crank position sensor which weren't bad, but the coil would have been about $50, so I only overspent about $60, and I saved tons over taking it to a shop.  I pulled the fuel pump when not needed, but I back-flushed the $120 fuel filter which is integrated to the pump, so that was a good thing to do anyway.

Anyway, here are a couple pics of the coil.

Just hold on to the good parts, down the road you may need them.  You still came out ahead!  Glad you got it figured out.

Yes, the extra parts go into the Jeep inventory.  I love having spares anyway, so it's all good now.  I am SO relieved!   :D
