I have (what I thought was) a '74 model Jacobsen GT12. Turns out that my father just told me 1974 because that's what year he thought it was. The Kohler engine has a serial number corresponding with 1973, and there is a front pulley tensioner setup that is supposed to be unique to 72-73 (according to a parts diagram). Are there any markings on the tractor itself to determine the model year? I have the original operator's manual, but it didn't help me out.

If the engine is dated to 1973 and it has parts unique to that year, then I would say it a '73 model!
