I am new to this site and have been pouring over threads and posts for the past few days. What a great site!
I am the proud new owner of a Massey 12. Can anyone tell me what the correct belt size for the implement idler is? I have gone through the parts manual, and it does not seem mention it at all? The previous owner had a smaller belt on it so that the mower was engaged all the time. I would like to get this going with the correct belt so that I can operate with the implement disengaged. :confuse: Any help would be appreciated.

I just had to get a new one in the winter when I shredded one blowing snow. I think one of the guys posted it in one of my threads. I will see if I can find it.

It is a 1/2" x 30" v belt. Make sure you get a heavy duty one. I thought that was the size of it when I made the last post but I didn't want to open my big mouth and insert foot LOL.

I am also going to move this thread to the Massey forum.

Yes, get an industrial rated belt such as a Gates "Power Rated", or Dayco "Blue Ribbon".

Thank you for the help. I tried searching through the threads, but did not see any thing. As soon as my son wakes up from his nap, we will head to the parts store and get a belt! Thanks for the help guys! I will post some photos of my new acquisition as soon as I have a chance.

I couldn't find it either in an older thread but then I didn't search real hard. I found the part number on AGCO Parts Books and then googled the part number and got the size. You have to use internet explorer and install the svg plugin to use Agco parts book but it is a great resource for finding part numbers.

I always end up forgetting about the parts book and then I go and post something looking for a part number and then the guys remind me to look at the parts book LOL

I've made a sticky post that when finished, I plan to have all Massey belts listed for all models I can, plus Gates belts that are an exact crossover when there is one. This will take a bit of time, but I think I have most, if not all for the MF10/12 already listed for tractor, mower deck, & snowblower.
