Bought this today...

The starter or solenoid is bad on the 16 horse Tecumseh. Tiller motor did run. Everything seems to be there and in decent shape. Brought it home for $300.00.

Did I mess up or do good? Any input on getting this thing working again. I really want this to be a work horse around the yard.

I'm west of Flint about 50 miles. I'm actually closer to St. Johns. This tractor was in Elsie and was actually only about 5 miles from me.

This is my first try at pictures on this forum so I hope I do it right.

Since you may not be able to find the add anymore this came with solid working order mowing deck, snow blade, snow plow that looks complete, and the pictured tiller. I only had time to unload it in the barn this afternoon. Hopefully in the next day or two I'll get some time and warmer weather to take a close look at things and begin working on it.

Mike,
You may want to take a look at this thread: http://gardentractor...__fromsearch__1

I picked up a SS16 with a rotospade a few weeks ago and the lower gear box came apart last week. The thread I sent the link to shows a bolt hole that is probably used to help stabilize the cases on the shield. My bolt was missing. Going as deep as I was going along with hitting a 6" rock didn't help much either.

Bill, thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely check on that bolt and look the casing over when I'm at it.

Nice score !!! definately worth the money -- wish you luck in getting her running soon !!!!

That would be less than $ 75 for each item -- Tractor, 3 point , deck , blade , blower , and tiller
