Hey all,, I have a FORD 195 Tractor an it's between 1977 to 1980 from what I have found out on this Forum I was here a while back but had prob's with computer an lost everything,, Well I trying to pick up where I left off at,, So,,,, I need to put a new Key Switch on my 195 an can't fig things out on the switch,,, My old switch has letters on it an are B,R,I,S,A, an my new switch letters are B,G,M,S,L, I do have the wireing diagram for my tractor,, But with the new switch I can't fig out what wire goes where, My Motor is the 20hp Kohler Twin cylinder engine,,,, Tractor has the P.T.O. I am going to restore my 195 but want to get the key switch fix first, I start it with a push button switch right now an want to take it off,, I sure hope somebody can help me with telling me where which wire I should put where,,, Thanks an hope to hear from ya'll,,,, An Sure feels good to be back in here,,, Thanks again Picture 012.jpg

Russ those are 2 different switches.
B,R,I,S,A, this one is for a point ignition system w/ a coil B-battery, R-regulator I-ignition - S-starter, A-accessory,
B,G,M,S,L this one is for a solid state or magneto ignition system.
B-battery, G-ground, M-magneto, S-starter, l-lights,

If the ignition system on your engine uses a battery powered coil, then your new switch is wrong. If it uses a magneto ignition, then you have the correct switch.
If your engine has magneto, the new switch goes like this:
B= battery
G= ground
M= magneto kill wire
S= starter solenoid
L= lights

Thanks guys for ya help,, I do have the points ignition system on my motor,, So that means I need to find another key switch with the same letters on it as the old key switch ??

Yes, you do need the same letters. These should be pretty common at NAPA and such. Just take the old one with you to match up.

Yea now I see that there is a diff in the switchest an will be getting one monday that will have the same letters as mine is,,, Thanks guys

Well guys this post is done now cause I fix my key switch with a new one,, An come to find out that as I been going thru the wires an seen where somebody had the wrong wire cross over on the silaiod,,, Thaks for all the help on here but will be around cause I going to be haven updates of pic an talks about my 195 an hope ya'll will still joing me even if ya don't have a 195 or a FORD,, An if anybody need to ask anything about the 195 then ask away cause I be learning alot I hope an with the help from this Forum Thanks again ya'll :bounce:
