I thought I'd start a thread similar to It's Rare, but dedicated to pictures of Bolens painted in 'non-standard' colors.

It seems like more Bolens get painted in strange colors than any of the other makes.

I'll start with one of the most egregious one's I've seen in a long time..an EK painted like a <shudder> Deere, and add a few more. Why on earth someone would paint a Bolens to look like an inferior brand is beyond me.

How about it guys, what have you seen?

Old Buzzard....Maybe some one is dreaming that the "OFF COLORED" companies could have made something as GREAT as the Bolens! Seen a Farmall Super M painted green and yellow and a comment was added "that is the BEST green tractor they had ever seen!

I think it's just a matter of whatever colour is available. I like the original Bolens colours and if I can find one up here to restore I wouldn't paint it any other colour.

That Articulating mower you posted pics of is not an estate keeper, but one of the later FS series mowers.

I think I started a thread like this a while ago but I cant find it.

I'd be happy with that one, even if it is painted wrong. I can fix that!

Funny this thread was started today. I happened by where an auction is going to be tomorrow and saw this from the road. After I found a place to turn the Peterbilt around, I got a better look and a couple of pics. At least its not green with yellow wheels. I was real interested -- that is until I got back to the warehouse and the bosshole asked me if I had enough hours left to make a run to Ankeny, IA tomorrow. So much for me going to that auction. :(
Now if we could include other brands, I have a horrendous picture of my Panzer 1107 when I bought it. That one was green with yellow wheels. :mecry:

Go ahead and post the Panzer.

It would be good to see that Bolens weren't the only tractors that suffered the shame of being painted like a Deere.

Here's a picture of my '61, 551 Wheel horse (sorry, my only Bolens is wearing it's original colors LOL).

I also have another horse that someone wished was a Cub Cadet. I don't have any pics of it yet though.

I guess the John Deere folks are equal opportunity abusers.

Here we have a poor Allis-Chalmers wearing "The Colors of Shame"
