I want to post a memoriam for a long time friend who joined GTT a while back. JoeJ (Joe Johnson Jr) from New Jersey, I have known for several years from various sites. His health declined to the point he didn't post much at all here, in fact just 7 posts. He has been sending me stacks of his "Farm Show" magazines for the last 4 years or so. I read them, but forgot the title of the mag until something came up that reminded me of them.
Anyway, Joe was a pro welder, and the fumes from welding all those years finally brought him down.
Joe passed on the morning of March 18th, and laid to rest Wednesday March 21st.
Joe was in the process of building a mini backhoe when his illness stopped his ability to finish it. He was an avid GT man too. He loved ice fishing with his Grandaughter.
I will miss Joe very much & wanted to post a tribute here for him. I wish his health was to where he would have gotten to know all of you. He was a great guy & family man. We used to burn up ICQ chatting.
Goodbye Joe! I'll see you again someday my friend!

You have my condolences too Dan. Though we didn't get to know him, anyone you considered a good friend must have been a terrific guy! I'll keep his family and friends in my prayers...and you're already there my friend!

I had intended to give him a phone call lately, but never got around to it. We chatted every now & then on Facebook, but he never could stay on long at a time due to his health. A few years ago before his health got too bad for him to do anything physical, he & his wife Karen got in a tight money squeeze with his Dr bills. I knew from our chatting that his GT that he mowed with had a fried key switch and his yard was getting thick. I told him I'd paypal him some money & he adamantly refused. I knew his paypal account, as I had to help him set it up, so I told him he had no choice, that $20 was already in his account. He gave me a verbal beating for doing it, but I just laughed & told him he would have done it for me. Then he said yes, he would, and thanked me. They recovered somewhat financially after that, so ever since he saved his Farm Show mags until he got a thick stack, then he shipped them to me. I always told him I wanted to repay the shipping costs, but he in a most firm way told me absolutely not! The last stack came around this past November. I'm gonna take my sweet time reading them all. I'll for sure have ole JoeJ on my mind when I do.

I can't say anything more than what's been said above. If he was your friend, I'll consider him mine too ( with your OK) & will miss a valuable member of our GT community.

Thanks for the memorial post, RIP Joe.

Daniel, I am sorry for your loss and his family's loss. I figure it this way. Quality knows quality. It usually sees itself the same.

My thoughts are with you all.

I was saddened when I received word of Joe's passing. I didn't realize he was a member here as I've only been here since January, but I've known Joe for about ten years, I guess. Got to know him years ago over at ST and have exchanged many PMs and emails with him over the years. He was a real down to earth kind of guy that never met a stranger. I will miss him along with many others that were his friends.

My thoughts and prayers are for Joe's wife and family.
