The model for mine is 917.294560. not sure what the heavy duty ones # is, as i dont think ive ever looked before. Sears had a ton of Roto-Spaders built over the yrs. It seems just as you think you've seen them all, another one pops up. I have maybe a dozen manuals for differnt models here in a binder some place. They seem to be like chainsaws, some many differnt ones you'd go crazy trying to keep track of the m all.

Turns out the lower cases on your model number unit are the same part number as the cases on mine and the same prices $388 and $391. Just not quite worth replacing them unless I can find something used. Michiganmobileman has a walk behind rotospade and he is going to let me know soon if it is similar to what I have. It looks like the shaft that the tines mount to is shorter on the walk behind, that and the shifter is about all the difference I can see.

The vertical shaft engine on yours must be the difference. Not even close but when I get down your way I'll give you a call and maybe we can have a cup of coffee at William's Cafe.

Thanks,
Bill

You're on Bill, will PM you my phone number.
But in case this comes up first, Kathy is attending a seminar in TC May 3 & 4, dragging me along and I will be looking to find entertainment on Thursday whiles she is busy. Up for a visit then?

I think you already have my cell # but I'll get it to you again. Thursday the 3rd sounds good. It will give me an excuse to clean up the shop.

Bill
