I got this tractor back in 2006 actually for free , along with a 69 simplicity - had to drive an hour to get them, when i first saw it i thought the guy put all these stickers on it - he said he got it from the store that way.....

Personally this was a first for me - never herd of or seen one like it - went to Lowes and they never seem to herd of it either - its an actual model from MTD , stickers were availible at one time for it. These pics are of it just after taking it out of the truck .

Some details:

Has a running 18.5HP opposed twin briggs
42" deck
All wheel steering
Special decal package and paint
Missing hubcaps

Eventually i do plan on restoring this tractor to near/over restoration ( chrome/polish aluminum parts) , initially it will be returned to mowing status, when i rebuild the deck ( its on the list of redo's) , im sure the decals wont be cheep to reproduce either.

Im sort of irritated that a cool looking tractor like this was so abused and beat up, means itll take alot to get the metal straight enough for new paint.

Im just curious if anyone else has ever come across or seen one before? Over the years ive only herd of one ( in another state).

That is very cool, looks to be original! Nowadays it would have a #48 but I think Jimmie Johnson is advertising Husky GT's for Lowe's this year. Never seen one before.

I have the same one. Paid $150 it runs and drives but turns over very very slow. think starter is bad? It's not 4 wheel steer.

Welcome, skoobyj! Looks like we have a pair of those 'Lowes' tractors. That's pretty cool to have!

Thanks! I replaced the starter and it starts like a champ and runs great with the idle turned up but when I turn the idle to low it kinda revs.
Also the front wheel bearings or bushings? are shot I need to figure out what year and model it is so I can find parts but I can't find any numbers on the machine itself, probubly because I don't know where to look... Any ideas?

Usually the MTD tags are under the seat. I bought one of these with the 4 wheel steer a few years ago but have yet to do anything with it. It has no spark so I'm figuring a coil. I'm always looking for anything built today that might be collectable in the future and I thought this might be.

I can see where the tag used to be but it was long gone when I got it.

Charmin, Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy yourself here. As far as I know, the tag under the seat was the only one. Maybe somebody else will have a better answer or way to ID it..

Welcome to the forum! Do you have a pic you could post? That might help. I have a '94 Ranch King 14/42. Not sure if the manual for it would do any good without seeing what yours looks like.

I just uploaded a file dated 1994 for MTD LT's. Maybe you can pick which series from it and we can get you something to work with. I have several more I can upload once I clean some watermarks off them.

This is about as close as I can find for parts for you. You can use that to find the part #'s and shop for the best price from there. I do have an Operators Manual that will cover this, some things may be a bit different.

Here's the Owners manual.
