I live in an appartment building in hagerstown were for every 3 buildings there is a dumpster, the other day I noticed a big box in the trash that had a picture of a honda push mower on it, I thought that was strang being were live. Two days later a bolens push mower shows up beside the dumpster. It is a 3hp briggs,20 inch cut, mulching mower with a bagger on the back.I pulled on it and it didnt start but it had fresh gas in it,the deck had been cleaned out,and the blade had been sharpened so it was ready to go.So I put it on the back of my truck and took it to my dads to work on it,all I did was clean the plug and spray some 2+2 carb. cleaner in the carb to clean it up and it started and been running ever since. Its a shame that people throw good stuff away without trying to fix it.

That's our society. Years ago I would pick up refrigerator's along side the road or in vacated house's that didn't work. I would take them home and check them out and usually it was a $20 part and I turned around and sold it for $50 - $100 depending on what kind it was. I currently have 2 mowers in the shop both just needed the carb's cleaned out and a little TLC.

Looks like your dad just got a good deal. I'm glad you were able to recycle/reclaim that mower.

Someone's ignorance turned into a blessing for you. Lucky you were there at the right time.
