Hercules built several four cylinder inline engines. The engine in our Oliver/Celtrac loader is a Hercules. Starts and runs great but needs to be rebuilt since it doesn't have much power and does have a lot of blow by.

Since the engine is an old inline it might be a little too big for a GT

Hercules made engines. I almost had one a few years back when my Employer had to replace one that needed rebuilt. It "disappeared" before I could get it though!?!?

I had a old old Lincoln that had a Wisconsin it was a hand crank
Cranked good as long as you did not let it set a long time
let it set 3 months and you would feel like you could have drilled a whole in the world
quicker

your looking for something like a TD wisconsin. I think those were about 12hp. The trouble i see with the Her is its a heavy engine.

Great looking generator set. Almost be a shame to tear it apart for the engine. I believe the A3 on the side is the unit "bumper number" not the model number.

There were 2 different builders of Hercules engines. The logo shown is from the Hercules Gas Engine co of Evansville IN. They made the hit and miss style Hercules engines. The inline Hercules like is shown in the video is Hercules Motor Co of Canton OH. The 2 companies were not related.

They also made smaller engines as well. This one showed up at the Wellington, OH show last fall.

I believe the JD Model L tractors used them as well.
