Said goodbye to the old crusty 96 Taurus last week and got me a new ride. An 06 Sierra with 58,000 miles on it. Hoping it treats me well.

Nice! That's a clean solid looking GMC. Low mileage for the year. It should serve you well for a long time!

Nice truck you found. Congrats.

I'd much rather have a truck than a car. They're a lot more useful and, for older folks (like me), they're easier to get in and out of.

So true, even the wife appreciates this fact of life. :)

Nice Truck Chad, I hope the two of you have a nice long relationship.

That was my whole point in getting it. I gave up an F150 a few years ago for the wife to get her Liberty. Been using hat ever since with a snowmobile trailer to haul around my tractors and anything else I could fit on the trailer. Tired of having the trailer sit around being an eyesore in my backyard. It's got the 5.3 in it so I should be able to pull the car trailer from the farm and get at least 4 tractors on at a time if need be or if I am just hauling one I can put it in the bed and go. Going to top off the tank tomorrow after work and see where my mileage is at. They told me it should be around 12 in town and I think it is going to come out close to that. If it does that good or better I will be happy as the car was tired and only getting 12 anymore around town.

My parents have had a few Ford's here and there but I was raised a GM man. We've always got better service from them than we have from Ford products. I have only myself ever owned a Ford and this will be the first GM product that I own. My parents currently have an 05 3/4 ton Chevy Duramax and my brother in law has an 07 1/2 ton GMC similar to mine only with a 4 door cab and both of them have been reliable with no issues since new. I've nothing against Ford's persay I just like the GM's better and the deal they gave us was to good to pass up. Where I got it had another one next to it that was optioned out to the max for a bit more money but it was a year older and only had 44,000 on it. Woulda been a good truck but it was just a tad outta my budget. I think this one will serve me good.
