Came home with a Moto-mower 10hp.
I believe Moto-mower garden tractors from the mid 60s came in 6, 8 and 10HP. I have two 6HP Briggs, an 8HP Kohler and now the 10HP Kohler - the set is complete.

Seller hadn't run the tractor in 6 months. Put some gas down the cylinder and it started right up. A few minutes to warm up and it runs like a top on old gas. After it warmed up, I pulled the booster pack and the tractor kept running - the generator works. Yay :dancingbanana:

I have a parts tractor (same model, but no motor) that has the correct seat and steering wheel and a mid-section cover that's in better shape.

A couple curiosities. I'm not sure what the seat is from. The front axle may have been borrowed from a MF Executive - the paint on it looks original. I asked the seller (twice) - he doesn't have the rest of the MF. ;)

Was the mf executive and the Moto Mower made at the same factory in Richmond Indiana? Dura corp?? Could they have the same front end?

You are correct. Moto-mower and MF Executives where made by Dura Corp in Ingersoll On and Richmond In.

So that's an interesting thought. The MF Exec's where a short run and there may have been some left-over parts. Or just a repair. Hard to know what's happened to a garden tractor during the past 40+ years.

That's an awesome score! Glad that you were able to get the final piece of the puzzle. So, now that you have the complete set, what will you look for next?

Congrats on finding the last puzzle piece. Nice looking GT you have there, even better that it's a runner!

Hey, congrats on completeing the set. Looking forward to a group photo.
That 10hp looks like the MF8E (late version) Checker plate footrests. Earlier 8E's had
the cast foot rests and aluminum steering wheel.

That yellow axle looks like it belongs to a 7E.
