I decided to take the Squire out for a run last night - put it to work. Cut grass for about an hour until it ran out of gas.

7.25HP doesn't leave a lot of power to spare, but it was able to handle thick, lush grass in 2nd gear. 3rd in the thinner spots.

For a 50+ year old tractor, it works great.

Sure would be interesting to have found the builders number tag is under that seat.
In good condition the old 7.25 Briggs was easily up to the task. Ours stayed in 3 gear most of the time.

Our '62 B1 had a foam element air cleaner straight from the factory.
