I had stopped by a neighbor's house in town last fall and inquired about a 110 round fender I saw sitting outside for awhile. She said she was interested in selling it and then called back saying she changed her mind. Well...Sunday I got another call. She wanted to sell it! Monday the deal was struck and I pulled it up on my trailer Tuesday and brought it the entire 3 blocks home. Best part of it is that I saw some more green in the garden shed. She said it will with the mower but she didn't know what it was. To my delight it was a front mount PTO. I let her know what it was and it came home with me also. A good, good day. Now I need to plan on where to store all this stuff and still get a car in the garage. I'll get some pics uploaded when I get to a high speed connection.

Congrats on your find  It looks like you have a very nice, original condition John Deere to play with. With the 4 speed tranny it should be a 1965 or later model. I can't remember if they made them in 1968 or if that was the change over year to the one piece fender/deck style. Great find on the front PTO, that could bring $200-$300 alone. You done good!

It is a '67. I'm toying whether to restore it or just leave it original and play with it. :confuse:They sure look nice all painted up but it's in pretty good original condition too. Maybe I should have a poll? :anyone:

My opinion for what's it worth is to leave it as is. First off, it is in very nice shape for a tractor 33 years old, they are only original once! Second, You can put a lot of time and effort into a new paint job and it will look some better but not a lot better than it does right now with a coat of wax on it. The hood doesn't even look to beat up in the front where lots of them are missing a piece or two.

Nice find on the RF and front mount PTO. Looks to be in really nice condition. If it was mine I would clean it up and leave it as is. 67 was the last year for the RF also was the only year that they welded on the foot rest.

Thank you. I do think I'll clean it up and leave it alone for awhile. It's a couple of restos down the list anyway. I have a couple of other tractors that I have no question about.
