i know im a bolens guy but i have a cub cadet 100 that i got from my uncle and i really like these tractors. well i got a call from a friend a couple days ago an he said he knew someone that had a old cub cadet he wants to get rid of. so he brings it over an he said if i didnt buy it it was heading to the scrap yard. so i bought it for 50.00 bucks. its a 126 with a 12hp kohler an the tractor is in pretty good shape so i bought it. i put a new battery in it, cleaned the points and carb an it fired right up and ran PERFECT. so i had 2 tires for the front i threw them on an now shes a runner. i will post some pics tomarrow.

Congrats on your new purchase. Sounds like it was an easy rehab into a running tractor. Can't wait to see the pictures tomorrow.

Great deal ! Sticks in my mind that the 126 is like the 3rd rarest production number in the Cub line-up. I think it goes
1st rarest model #800, 2nd model #169, 3rd model #126, 4th model #73, and 5th model #86.
Even if it wasn't a rare one, any running Cub for $50 is awesome and the scrap man didn't get all those parts

That thing looks like it has pretty darn straight itn on it! Also appears to have a nice 48 inch deck on it, those a re a little bit harder to find then a 38 or 42.

How is the PTO "stuck"? Does it not engage the mower when the lever is moved or is it on all the time? Not a hard job to fix, but they can be a bugger to get off the tractor.
