Hi guys, I recently got the itch to restore my 1963 600 gold series. Im new to all this but really excited. Im missing the hood and treat tower. Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me if the 800 was the same size as the 600 got a couple lead on them just want to make sure they are the same size. Thanks

Welcome to GTT!

We would love to see some pictures of your 600 when you get a chance!

Most parts from the 800 will not fit your 600, as the 600 has a shorter frame and hood compared to all the other Tubeframes.

Sides. It was most defentialy was painted gold. So would you say thats a 1963 600 model? Thanks so much for the help

Yes, most likely it is a 63' or a late model 62'

is your ID plate still intact?

My ID tag is not in contact that's what has made this a little more of challenge. So you think my only option for the hood and tower is to find a 600 parts to replace. You dont think the 800 would work? How could I tell if I have short or medium frame?

You will need to find a 600 Hood, and it also has to be a hood from a 62' or a 63' because there are some minor changes that were made with the 64-65 hoods. ( If you dont care if your hood matches all original speifications , then you could use a 600 hood from 64-65.)

The 800 Hoods are around 25'' from front to back and the 600 Hoods are around 21'' front to back

Length's of the chassis
600- 60'' from front to back
800-63''

A dash assembly from an 800 will not work with the 600.
The throttle and choke knobs were black

Hey dr. Bolen. Another question sorry! Im stilling having ahard time determining weather its a 600 or 800. I know you already post measurements for chassis lengths. But mine is apart amd I just measured the tube frames and they were right at 4 foot or just a hair under. I do know my tractor was originally all gold though if that helps witrottle and choke levers on both sides of the steering. It was originally painted gold all over. thanks so much.

If you can get some pictures of your Tractor That would really help correctly ID it.
Even if the tractor is all apart I can still tell you whether you got a 600 or 800 on your hands. Both the 600 and the 800 used black knobs on the throttle and choke cables so thats really not a good way of determining what you have.
