Hello,

I'm new to the forum, I stumbled upon it looking for info on a 1985 Power King 1614 I just purchased. It hasn't been run in 3 years since the clutch went out. The previous owner disassembled the clutch, so I need to find an diagram of the clutch assembly. Anyone know where to find this info? I'm hauling it home tomorrow, I'll try to post some pictures.

Thanks,
joefixit

I don't know if we have a manual for it or not. There are a couple of knowledgeable Power King guys on here. Make sure ya post your question in the power king forum, it will allow for the proper guys to see the question and answer it. :welcometogttalk:

:welcome:, I don't have anything In my PK stash on '85s, but I know 1985 was the change-over year on them, is yours a metal hood or 'glass hood? Do you have the serial #? Will keep looking for exploded view and post here if successful.

Hi,

Thanks to everyone for the freindly welcome!! Peter, the serial # is 63042, with a glass hood. I'm going to try to get pictures up in the next day or so. I didn't have time tonight, I had to get it in the garage and then get the lawn mowed before the rain rolled in!! I hoping Saturday morning to get the oil changed and a battery in it and see if it will fire up, its been three years since it has ran. Once I know it'll run, then I'll tackle the clutch...

Thanks,

joefixit

Here are some pictures of my tractors. Sorry for cluttered pictures, they are stuffed in my garage which needs a serious cleaning. The Power King I paid $350 for, the old Sears Custom I got for free off of craigslist. The Craftsman Indy is what I currently mow with. Hopefully I'll be able to report that the PK runs by tomorrow.

After doing an oil change, flushing the fuel tank, and putting in a new battery, I got to try to start the Power King. After a few minutes, I found the throttle plate was stuck. After I got that loosened up, it fired right up and ran for over an hour. The governor still 'hunts' a bit because the throttle isn't moving as freely as it should. I'll probably pull the carb and clean it, but other than that it ran great!! It's on to the clutch now.
